MBC Signatory call: Vicarious Trauma and Psychosocial Risks in High-Pressure Environments with CiC, TLT and Clyde

MBC Signatories: Following our June Insights session on vicarious trauma, we were delighted to welcome back Harry Key from CiC Wellbeing who was joined by Lucy Norman-Wells from member organisation TLT and Neil Hastings from Clyde & Co.

Suitable for: MBC Leads and anyone within member organisations interested in the topic.

Synopsis: With 964,000 UK workers reporting work-related stress, depression or anxiety, mental ill-health remains the leading cause of work-related illness. In high-pressure sectors, these risks are amplified by long hours, constant availability, and exposure to challenging or distressing material.

What you’ll learn: Hear from member organisations, TLT and Clyde & Co, who will share their experiences of supporting colleagues working in demanding environments and the practical benefits of the CiC Vicarious Trauma Programme, including how it helps organisations raise awareness, build resilience, support client service/delivery and operational sustainability, strengthen managerial support, and create a culture where employees feel supported when dealing with challenging and potentially traumatic content.

‍

Key take aways:

  • Ask people about their experience on particular pieces of work, how did it feel, what was the impact? Don't just look at the output.
  • Really get to know your business and understand where your psycholgical saftey blinds spots might be
  • Understand you drivers and and build a business case for psychological safety
  • Engage your senior leaders
